Halyard Consulting Offers Zero Cost Mini Website SWOT Analysis for One Week Only

Jersey City, NJ (PRWEB) June 24, 2014

In a recent podcast episode of The World of Internet Marketing, the president of Halyard Consulting Jonathan Goodman, explained how his company uses the SWOT analysis for their Internet clients. His use of the SWOT analysis is a little different than what is commonly seen for financial purposes.

Most business owners and managers understand that the SWOT analysis looks at a company’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. This analysis often occurs from a financial standpoint, but Goodman uses the same concept when looking at the Internet presence of his clients. Just like with a financial analysis, it measures internal and external factors that can determine whether a business will be a success or failure.

Goodman stated that he first begins his analysis by giving clients a vocabulary list to familiarize them with terms that are standard in the Internet marketing industry but may not be familiar to those outside of it. He provided a sample that included words such as “domain authority” and “root domain.”

The analysis consists of looking at the website and where it currently ranks for domain authority. He also checks out the competition to see where they stand. In addition, he will look to see where the website stands with social media. He mainly looks at Facebook and Twitter to see which URLs did well and what titles spurred the most response. Through this analysis, he can tell what is working and what is lacking as well as what the competition is doing right.

Another aspect of SWOT analysis as it pertains to Internet marketing is linking domains and getting high-quality backlinks. There are generally two strategies with this. A company either strives to obtain one link with high domain authority or attempts to get several links in the mid-range.

The large scale SWOT analysis consists of Halyard Consulting analyzing a company’s top three competitors. Goodman provides a summary detail that shows where the company is currently and where it is going as well as how it compares to the competition. The business also receives some overall observations as well as suggested project objectives to improve its status.

Goodman stated that the analysis most benefits companies making over $ 2 million. He discussed some of the resources that he uses such as the Alexa rankings, which serves as a good analytical tool for analyzing a website. One can also use it to compare the competitions’ sites so a company has a better idea of where it stands and if it needs improvement.

A SWOT analysis by Halyard Consulting helps businesses better understand their Internet influence and how they can improve to grow their brands. In today’s global economy, having a strong Internet presence can mean the difference between success and failure.

For one business week (June 23rd through the 27th) Halyard Consulting is offering a free mini three point SWOT analysis against one competitor. The analysis will provide critical insight into both the requesting companys website as well as one of their competitors. The three points included in the report are domain authority, top five linking domains, and top five pages with the most authority. While the report is smaller than the paid version it will provide critical insight into a companys current strategy, risks and successes.

PROJECT TRIPOD: 2 week old Australian Startup receives lucrative Microsoft/Nokia grant

Sydney, Australia (PRWEB) June 24, 2013

Imagine you had access to some of the best photography equipment available today, including the camera itself and hardware such as a tripod and lenses. What would happen if you could easily transport that equipment virtually anywhere and take a series of photos over a period of time? This is the question that led to Jordan Knight, the Founder of Project Tripod coming up with this exciting new idea that has today raised early stage seed funding thanks to the Microsoft and Nokia.

Project Tripod is an app that is being developed to allow you to use your device to take a snapshot of the same person, place or object over an undetermined length of time to produce creations such as a time-lapse or blend. This technology enables everyone to visualise change over time more easily, the time-lapses on Project Tripod can be as short as a minute and as long as a decade. Users will be able to create, discover and share larger images and map change effortlessly without the need for any expensive hardware.

We were utterly delighted to find out that we had won the grant! said Catherine Eibner, CEO of Project Tripod, but the real props go to the awesome design and prototype work done to date by our development partner at Xamling. Jordan and Alex Knight have already done a fantastic job and Im eagerly anticipating seeing the product develop. Xamling also brings their strong relationship with local teams for both Nokia and Microsoft Australia which we are looking forward to further developing.

Project Tripod is a startup from MicrosoftsBizSpark global start-up program.

We are excited to see Project Tripod receiving recognition from AppCampus, and to have yet another talented Australian startup within the Microsoft Bizspark start up program receiving this level of recognition and global investment said Emily Easterby, BizSpark Lead for Microsoft Australia. Microsoft BizSpark provides software, visibility and opportunities to connect with mentors and investors, to promising startups and visionary entrepreneurs.

AppCampus offers grants to startups to help support their efforts to build compelling Windows Phone apps. They have received thousands of submissions from all over the world since its launch in May 2012.

AppCampus offers a limited number of grants to startups, ranging from 20,000-70,000. Selected apps will need to be available exclusively on the Windows Phone or Nokia platforms for the first 90 days. In addition, AppCampus also provides training in mobile technology, design and usability, coaching and marketing support. Windows Phone Marketplace and Nokia Store offer local and global business opportunities to program participants via distribution to consumers around the world.

The Microsoft BizSpark program offers start-ups access to software, visibility, community and support. This includes cloud computing, Access to network partners, and a community of peers through online and in person events specially designed for start-ups.

Project Tripod is currently being developed and the team is extending an open invitation to people from all backgrounds to nominate themselves to be part of the beta for product testing. Sign up now at http://www.projecttripod.com.

National EE Week 2013 Highlights How Technology Can Get Kids Outdoors & Learning

Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) April 15, 2013

National Environmental Education Week starts today the nation’s largest celebration of environmental education and will spotlight ways by which technology can enhance environmental learning.

This years theme, Taking Technology Outdoors, is part of EE Weeks multi-year focus on Greening STEM (science, technology, engineering and math): The Environment as Inspiration for 21st Century Learning.

The environment is not only a compelling topic for teaching STEM and engaging students through hands-on, real-world learning it also provides knowledge, skills and experience students need to solve 21st century challenges like energy and resource conservation which affect all of us, said Diane Wood, President of the National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF).

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan offered this perspective in a public service announcement for EE Week. We know so many of the jobs of the future are in the STEM fields, and there are so many great ties between STEM education and environmental education, he said. If we really want to keep those good jobs in this country, if we want our students prepared I think theres no better way to start to get at that, whether its in 2nd grade or in 11th or 12th grade, than to get kids out in the outdoors with environmental education.

Environmental education can incorporate all four pillars of STEM. Moreover, 75 percent of 1,900 educators asked in a survey by the National Wildlife Federation said students who spend regular time outdoors tend to be more creative and better problem-solvers. EE Week is providing case studies, webinars, a new Google+ Hangout on weather and the environment for students and educators, as well as other multimedia resources.

In todays era of gadgets and global connectivity, technology offers new ways for classrooms, students and learners of all ages to explore the environment. Tools such as mobile apps for spotting and identifying species in nature and sharing observations help make discoveries possible by citizens as well as scientists.

NEEF released the Tech & Our Planet infographic illustrating the widespread use of technology among kids and adults and possibilities for environmental learning, career pathways and implications for the economy. For example, the growth in cloud computing and related technologies could help save more than a third of the energy used by data centers by the year 2020.

EE Week is hosting a live tweet chat today on Twitter to discuss and field questions on Greening STEM: Taking Tech Outdoors at 1pm ET with the hashtag #EEWeek. Participation in EE Week, which runs through April 20, is free, and educators can access all materials by registering free of charge at eeweek.org.
