WSO2 to Present Technical Webinar on Using Cloud-Enabled WSO2 Application Server for Business Scalability

Palo Alto, CA (PRWEB) July 24, 2012

An elastic cloud infrastructure allows businesses to rapidly deploy applications while minimizing costs. However, the traditional application servers deployed in most organizations do not meet the requirements necessary for them to move to the cloud. What enterprises need instead are application servers that support a wide range of deployment options, including installation on public and private clouds in addition to standalone uses. To facilitate this effort, WSO2 will present a free webinar on how developers can optimize their business scalability with the cloud-enabled WSO2 Application Server.

The one-hour technical session, WSO2 Intro Webinar – Scale your Business with the Cloud-Enabled WSO2 Application Server,” is being held twice on Thursday, August 2: 9:00 a.m. 10:00 a.m. PDT for the Americas and 10:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m. GMT for Europe and Asia-Pacific. For more information, visit http://wso2.org/library/webinars/2012/07/wso2-intro-webinar-scale-your-business-cloud-enabled-wso2-application-server.

Cloud Computing Provider GoGrid Enables Highly Scalable Web Applications Using Zeus Technology

San Francisco, CA (Vocus) June 3, 2009

GoGrid, the Cloud Computing division of ServePath Dedicated Hosting, today announced a strategic partnership with Zeus Technology, the only software-based application traffic management company. The partnership will enable GoGrid to offer Zeus’ ZXTM VA (Virtual Appliance) software as an integral part of its on-demand service offering to its customers, who are deploying their web infrastructure within a Cloud environment.

Without the worry of significant upfront hardware costs, Cloud Computing offers vast savings in bandwidth costs, provides total flexibility as well as energy efficiency and economies of scale. GoGrid’s customers can purchase Zeus’ secure, layer-7 load balancing and application acceleration solution on a flexible, pay-as-you-go licensing fee calculated on monthly usage. This will give them access to dedicated traffic management features, not available from hardware based competitors.

With the ability to handle massive volumes of web traffic and ensure consistent availability and uptime, ZXTM VA is much more than a load balancing solution. Additional features include bandwidth management, traffic shaping, traffic prioritization, content compression and service level monitoring, coupled with TrafficScript, an intuitive traffic routing language. This will result in huge performance improvements for GoGrid’s customers.

Travis Reed, General Manager, Americas, Zeus Technology, explains: “As organizations review and upgrade their IT infrastructure and their business requirements change, we are seeing a shift to the Cloud. In doing so, customers are able to rapidly scale their IT infrastructure, also taking advantage of greater operational efficiency, better quality of service and commercial flexibility.

“The combination of the great Cloud Computing infrastructure provided by GoGrid and the power of Zeus’ software solutions, enables existing and prospective GoGrid customers to have dedicated, enterprise-class traffic management solutions in GoGrid’s Cloud.”

John Keagy, CEO, GoGrid, said: “It was a logical choice to partner with Zeus. Offering a pure software solution as a virtual appliance makes it ideally suited to a Cloud environment. Zeus fits our model of delivering scalable web hosting perfectly. By integrating Zeus’ unique SPLA program into our Cloud infrastructure, we can now offer a dedicated, instantly scalable and cost-effective traffic management solution to all our customers, on-demand and in a more agile manner. Our customers will find the ability to avoid the initial investment in proprietary hardware, while improving efficiency, managing traffic growth and enabling applications to scale and burst as they need to, to be hugely advantageous for them.”

Whilst GoGrid offers free load balancing via a physical f5 hardware appliance, Zeus’ ZXTM Virtual Appliance software allows you to further manage and control scalable web applications with robust traffic management features not available in the standard GoGrid out-of-the-box solution. Creating a full-featured “cloudcenter” using GoGrid with Windows and Linux cloud servers, load balancing and Cloud Storage has never been easier. Plus, you can now take your cloudcenter to the next management level with the addition of Zeus’ ZXTM VA software.

PrimaCloud Breaks Cloud Computing Performance Barriers Using Xsigo Virtual I/O

Mountain View, CA (PRWEB) August 25, 2009

PrimaCloud, a pioneering managed cloud and virtual IT services provider, announced today that it has deployed the Xsigo I/O Director as the foundation of its data center interconnect strategy. The Xsigo I/O Director enables PrimaCloud to break the barriers of I/O throughput seen in existing cloud computing offerings, allowing end customers to experience application performance levels that would previously have been achievable only in purpose-built private datacenters. Additionally, Xsigo’s virtual I/O infrastructure allows PrimaCloud to automatically provision cost-effective virtual private datacenters for its customers within minutes.

“Before we found Xsigo, we searched for a long time to find a solution that would allow us to provision high performance virtual private datacenters for our customers,” said David Durkee, CEO of PrimaCloud. “We looked at 10GigE and physical Infiniband interconnects and found they provided insufficient manageability and throughput to guarantee our customers the fast and reliable service we needed to compete with existing purpose-built data centers. With Xsigo’s high-speed 20Gb/sec connections to our servers, we can finally utilize the full I/O bandwidth capacity of our VMWare ESX clients.”

With three years of experience providing cloud computing under the ENKI name, PrimaCloud management was seeing an increasing number of enterprise clients running database and transaction-intensive applications — such as Oracle — which required multi-gigabit connections to the vLAN and NAS storage to avoid I/O contention. In these applications the bandwidth required per virtual machine exceeded 3Gb/sec, which meant that a single cloud server running ten virtual machines required over 30Gb/sec total I/O bandwidth. Only Xsigo virtual I/O, with dual redundant 20Gb/sec I/O connections per server, provided the required performance. The Xsigo I/O Director’s low-latency bandwidth also serves to take maximum advantage of PrimaCloud’s SSD-cached NAS systems to delivery outstanding application throughput.

PrimaCloud’s automatically managed, hypervisor-agnostic cloud architecture requires a high level of automation to create and manage virtual private datacenters (VPDCs). The Xsigo I/O Director is able to automatically provision and manage virtual I/O and VLANs associated with virtual instances running VMWare ESX, Citrix, HyperV, and 3Tera’s AppLogic, under the control of PrimaCloud’s implementation of Enigmatec’s EMS, a cross-platform, policy-based automation engine. Using EMS to configure the I/O Director eliminates manual labor in managing VPDCs, as well as permitting automatic scaling of VPDCs to respond to changes in load, resulting in significant end-customer cost savings.

“Our customers expect to take a data center Visio diagram and make it real within minutes,” added Durkee. “We could not have done this without the rapid scalability and management flexibility that Xsigo enables. Virtual I/O allowed us to realize the ‘virtual’ part of the on-demand virtual private data center as well as provision only the resources the customer requests.”

Xsigo virtual I/O is a critical element of the reference datacenter architecture PrimaCloud uses to deliver on the promise of cloud computing: cost-effective, on-demand computing delivered on a pay-as-you-go-basis while meeting enterprise requirements for performance and uptime. The simplicity of deploying Xsigo Virtual I/O has enabled PrimaCloud’s reference architecture to be deployed in any one of its 65 datacenters worldwide for public, or hosted private cloud computing, as well as at customer sites.

Build Real-time Multiplayer Games on Android and iOS from Unity Free Using AppWarp

(PRWEB) January 31, 2014

ShepHertz A Cloud Ecosystem provider for Apps (Mobile, Web, Social, Gaming and TV Apps) announces the launch of its new AppWarp Unity SDK, which allows developers to use Unity Free and still build for iOS and Android. Earlier developers required Unity Pro when using AppWarp and targeting builds for iOS and Android. This is achieved through the use of native socket plugins which removes its dependency on the .Net sockets package that is restricted on Unity Free version.

AppWarp is a powerful, yet simple platform for developing multiplayer real-time games and applications. The communication happens using its custom binary protocol and it supports all the popular client platforms such as iOS, Android, WP as well as middle-ware such as Unity, Marmalade, and Corona etc. It is available on the cloud as well as on-premise depending on customer scenarios.

AppWarp cloud is great for building applications whose game play doesnt require server side validation of client data and rely only on exchanging information between clients. Multiplayer games such as side-scrolling, action combat, racing as well as simple real-time turn based games can be developed using the cloud. The cloud saves you from the headache of deploying and managing the server side. You just write client side business logic and utilize the ready-made server side features of rooms, lobby, matchmaking etc.

The on-premise offering AppWarpS2 was recently launched by ShepHertz and allows developers to build games which require hosted AI, server generated characters, server-side anti-cheat logic etc. Casino style card games, MMO, RPG etc. are genres that can be developed using AppWarpS2.

Recent Release of TradePulse Illustrates how ImportGenius is using Big Data to Fundamentally Change the Trade Industry

Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) April 17, 2012

For thousands of years, importers have safe-guarded the identities of their suppliers, shipping volumes, new product trends and other secrets of the import-export business. Many of those trade secrets will not survive the wave of data being generated from companies like ImportGenius.com, a technology firm that mines hundreds of millions of shipping records to glean insights into trading relationships, new product releases, and industry developments.

With the recent release of TradePulse, ImportGenius is now giving their clients access to information that was once kept hidden, by mining and analyzing over 66-million ocean freight shipping manifests.

Weve collected over 250,000,000 shipping manifests and customs records since we launched 5 years ago, says ImportGenius.com President Ryan Petersen. Import-export businesses dont have the technological know-how to make sense of all that data, so we provide them with a very powerful suite of tools for gleaning insights relevant to their businesses.

Among the information provided by the firm includes details on the trading relationships of major American importers and their suppliers around the world. The shipping manifests reveal what the companies are buying, product trends, shipping volumes and more. Yet without a team of database engineers optimizing the dataset across its private cloud infrastructure, these records would be largely useless.

The companys clients are finding the enormous datasets to be an ideal tool for researching potential suppliers, verifying identities of trading partners, monitoring competitors, and connecting with new sales prospects.

Although the company charges between $ 99 and $ 399 per month for its premium products, it also offers a free search option that anybody can use right on its homepage to start exploring the world of global trade.

Theres an ocean of data about the import-export industry, says Mr. Petersen. Our service helps people distill that down to digestible, relevant information that can help our clients businesses.
