NephoScale Cloud Hosting Announces Beta Availability of CloudPaaS Platform-as-a-Service Based On Cloud Foundry Version 2

San Jose, CA (PRWEB) September 09, 2013

NephoScale, a technology leader in public and private cloud hosting, is excited to announce the release of its CloudPaaS for developers. This new service provides automated staging and deployment of applications with a choice of developer frameworks and data services. The CloudPaaS platform gives developers the tools they need to easily move an app from their own server to the cloud with no code changes. Developers simply write their code and then with CloudPaaS they can test, deploy, and scale their applications in a production environment with no changes. There is no infrastructure to manage and no middleware code to develop or support. The result is an accelerated software delivery cycle and faster time-to-market.

With the addition of our new NephoScale CloudPaaS platform-as-a-service offering, we are able to provide customers an easy way to get started developing, testing, and deploying their apps, said Telemachus Luu, CTO of NephoScale. This new service allows us to accommodate strong customer demand for a low friction way to quickly deploy apps in the cloud, while also providing a seamless path to our NephOS IaaS cloud platform when customers need maximum visibility into the underlying infrastructure or want access to high performance on-demand bare metal servers, Luu adds.

NephoScale Adds More Control to Cloud Computing with New IaaS Platform

San Jose, CA (PRWEB) January 12, 2011

NephoScale is changing the way people develop and deliver software in the cloud with new infrastructure services that will enable companies to deliver applications over the Web faster and with true global scalability. NephoScales flagship infrastructure as a service (IaaS) offerings include cloud servers, on-demand dedicated servers and object-based cloud storage all powered by a programmatic interface that gives users unprecedented control over their cloud infrastructure.

Were taking a new approach to IaaS by making it so simple for developers to autonomously set up a cloud infrastructure, that it removes the system administrator from the equation, which means companies can do even more with less, said Bruce Templeton, president of NephoScale. The technology weve built into our architecture also helps us fulfill a real industry demand by supporting PaaS functions, such as configuring and optimizing an application stack, while providing the additional services and flexibility associated with an IaaS.

NephoScale Joins OpenStack Community in Support of Open and Interoperable Cloud Services

San Jose, CA (PRWEB) February 16, 2011

Cloud services provider NephoScale is fostering innovation and interoperability in the global cloud community by formally joining OpenStack, an open source cloud project with more than 50 participating organizations working to drive industry standards. Having recently launched in January, NephoScales object-based Cloud Storage service is the first generally available offering, outside of Rackspace, to be built using the OpenStack storage system.

When we initially sat down in mid-2010 to research cloud storage systems for our IaaS platform, we evaluated several options and technology paths, and OpenStack was the logical choice for us for several reasons, said Telemachus Luu, CTO of NephoScale. It met our requirements for object-based storage, scalability and redundancy, and was hands-down the fastest way for us to develop a core infrastructure that we could build upon.

NephoScales infrastructure services, which include cloud servers and on-demand dedicated servers, in addition to cloud storage, were designed for true global scalability and fault tolerance. The company used OpenStack Object Storage as the framework for its Cloud Storage service and added value by layering on management functions that were built in-house, including custom authentication, auto-scaling, and storage inventory control. By using clusters of commodity servers, its Cloud Storage can store large amounts of data and replicate objects several times.

With progressive companies like NephoScale choosing OpenStack Object Storage as the foundation for their cloud storage infrastructures, were moving toward the eradication of IaaS vendor lock-in, which we believe will spur market growth and move us toward our goal of an open and standard cloud, said Jonathan Bryce, chairman of the OpenStack Project Oversight Committee, and founder of the Rackspace Cloud.

In addition to building upon OpenStack, NephoScale has already contributed source code to OpenStack Object Storage. As NephoScales development team adds features to the underlying storage engine, it is committed to making further contributions to help advance the OpenStack Object Storage project.

About NephoScale Cloud Storage

NephoScale object-based Cloud Storage solution replicates objects three times, translating to uptimes in excess of 99.999%, and has an ability to scale to hundreds of petabytes. It is currently available through the NephoScale website on a pay-as-you-go basis, with no long-term commitment, which enables companies to reap the benefits of increased scale, improved service levels, and more reliability with little or no capital expenditure. NephoScale Releases VNC Console Access for Cloud Servers

San Jose, CA (PRWEB) May 25, 2011

NephoScale, a leading cloud services provider, is making cloud computing more secure with a new out-of-band VNC (Virtual Network Computing) Console Access for its Windows and Linux Cloud Servers. NephoScales VNC Console Access is the first to use reverse SSH (Secure Shell) tunneling, which allows users to securely transport data over an encrypted channel and manage a server from a remote location.

When emergencies strike and users are unable to access their cloud server over a public or private networking interface, our VNC Console Access gives them a highly secure alternative method to log in, said NephoScale CEO Bruce Templeton. This new feature hits on a critical need and gives our cloud server customers an added layer of security and the assurance that they can access their cloud servers when they absolutely need to.

The VNC Console makes secure access to cloud servers possible, even if the network interfaces are misconfigured or a user is locked out due to improperly configured firewall rules. The VNC Console Access feature operates within the browser, so a Java client download is not required. Through the VNC Console, users can gain secure, out-of-band access to a virtual keyboard, video and mouse for both Windows and Linux operating systems. Console sessions are shared to allow for online collaboration when troubleshooting.

Not only is NephoScale one of the few IaaS providers to offer a Javascript/HTML5 canvas VNC client, but were also the only public IaaS provider to make it possible for users to establish a VNC session over an out-of-band reverse SSH tunnel, said Telemachus Luu, CTO of NephoScale. Weve made this feature very simple to use by eliminating the need for the customer to set up or configure their own VNC server, modify any firewall rules or set up a VPN server for authentication and encryption.

Using the VNC Console Accesss reverse SSH tunneling capabilities, users can control their cloud server from a remote location, even if it sits behind a firewall or is subject to NAT (Network Address Translation). There are no access control lists once an SSH reverse tunnel has been established and authenticated, giving users full administrative privileges on the server.

VNC Console Access Details

VNC Console Access is now available as a standard feature with all NephoScale Cloud Servers. Learn more about NephoScales VNC Console Access at Cloud Server VNC Console Access or sign up for a cloud server at NephoScale Cloud Servers.
