Six Apart Selects UShareSoft to Deliver Movable Type on Multi-Cloud Infrastructures

Cloud Expo East, New York (PRWEB) June 12, 2012

UShareSoft today announced that it has been selected by Six Apart, provider of a leading social publishing platform, to simplify delivery of Movable Type to multiple cloud and virtualized environments.

UShareSoft’s UForge is a multi-OS, multi-cloud platform for building enterprise app stores and managing software image templates. Six Apart is using UForge to assemble full Movable Type application stacks as image templates ready for delivery to virtualization and cloud. Six Apart will also be using UForge to make the image templates available to customers, ISPs and channel partners.

UForge uses software modeling techniques, making it simple for Six Apart to quickly rip and replace different OS and middleware components without having to re-build their stack from scratch. Software modeling also streamlines maintenance, allowing Six Apart to quickly drop new releases into their existing model. Additionally, UForge supports all popular cloud infrastructures and hypervisor formats, enabling Six Apart to generate their final image templates at the push of a button, then publish directly to cloud.

We need to meet the infrastructure needs of all our Movable Type customers, regardless of the operating system, hypervisor or cloud environment they use, said Nobuhiro Seki, President and CEO, Six Apart. UForge makes it much simpler for us to support heterogeneous IT environments: we simply model once and deliver anywhere. By working with UShareSoft, we expect to turn customer deployments around faster, letting us scale our business more quickly.

Increasingly ISVs are looking to provide templates of their application stack, empowering channel partners and other ISVs to customize the stack for their own needs, said Alban Richard, CEO, UShareSoft. We’re very excited that Six Apart has chosen UShareSoft to help them meet new customer and partner requirements.

RightScale and GoGrid Partner to Deliver Multi-Cloud Management, Windows-Based Cloud Solution for the Enterprise

New York (PRWEB) September 17, 2008

As part of its industry-leading cloud computing product and partner initiative, RightScale, Inc., the leader in cloud computing management, today announced a partnership with GoGrid, a next-generation cloud infrastructure provider that specializes in load balanced cloud servers and complex hosted virtual server networks. The two companies will work together developing product and service offerings for organizations that want to take advantage of the two companies’ products and expertise: GoGrid’s expansive cloud infrastructure where it hosts critical business applications in a highly scalable, secure, fault tolerant environment, and RightScale for its best-in-class automated cloud management platform and services.

RightScale has hundreds of thousands of instances deployed via Amazon’s EC2, and another new partnership announced this week with UK-based FlexiScale. The company is able to take customer applications and deploy and manage them across multiple clouds, offering the ultimate in flexibility, scalability and pay-as-you-go capabilities provided by the RightScale Dashboard. The customer always has as much control, or as little, as they want. RightScale manages the rest so customers can focus on their own core business needs.

“With RightScale’s cloud management platform, customers will have a true multi-cloud solution and the ability to deploy their applications across several clouds, not having to lock in with a single vendor – and we have excellent partners, starting with Amazon and continuing with GoGrid,” said Michael Crandell, CEO of RightScale. “GoGrid brings a track record of customer service and platform expertise with Windows Server and Linux, as well as application-specific synergy with Ruby on Rails. We look forward to working closely with them as this nascent market takes off.”

“We see a lot of growth happening in the enterprise sector of the cloud computing market, starting right here in the Silicon Valley, which is one reason GoGrid has support for Windows Server 2008,” said GoGrid CEO, John Keagy. “It’s also a big reason we’ve expanded from traditional hosting to include a cloud architecture – customers want more flexibility, and that “right now” scalable capability that GoGrid and RightScale provide. For the scalability, features and capabilities companies can now get at the price point of a cloud solution, there’s really no reason for not jumping in with both feet.”

GoGrid also delivers portal controlled servers for Windows 2003 and 2008, multiple Linux operating systems and supports application environments like Ruby on Rails. GoGrid is unique in cloud computing with the availability of 32-bit and 64-bit editions of Windows Server 2008; and was named winner of LinuxWorld 2008 “Best of Show” in August. Together, GoGrid and RightScale will provide joint cloud solutions that are elegant and bring power, control and scalability to business customers.

Deploying scalable, reliable applications from scratch in a multi-cloud world is a time consuming and expensive task. As a result, most organizations do not have the expertise or resources to deploy and manage cloud computing applications cost effectively and according to best practices. With RightScale’s platform, any organization can easily tap the enormous power of cloud computing for a virtually infinite, affordable, “pay-as-you-go” IT infrastructure. RightScale’s offerings provide rapid deployment, a dynamically scalable infrastructure to meet varying traffic and loads, and require minimal resources using automated tools and a centralized web dashboard for easy management backed by best practices and professional services.

The first joint solution between RightScale and GoGrid will be available in Q4 2008. For details on pricing and different product options, call RightScale, Inc. at 1-866-720-0208, email sales@rightscale.com, or visit http://www.rightscale.com/products/.

RightScale First to Deliver Integrated Management for Multi-Cloud Environments

Interop New York Conference Expo (PRWEB) September 17, 2008

RightScale, Inc., the leader in cloud computing management, today announced a major new strategic product and partnership initiative as it broadens its cloud management platform to support emerging clouds from new vendors, including FlexiScale and GoGrid, while continuing its long-standing support for Amazon’s EC2. RightScale is also working with Rackspace to assure compatibility with their cloud offerings, including Mosso and CloudFS. RightScale will be the first in the industry to offer an integrated management dashboard, where applications can be deployed once and managed across these and other clouds.

Businesses can take advantage of the nearly infinite scalability of cloud computing by using RightScale to deploy their applications on a supported cloud provider. They gain the capabilities of built-in redundancy, fault tolerance, and geographical distribution of resources – key enterprise demands for cloud providers. With RightScale, customers can leverage the leading cloud management platform to automatically deploy and manage their web applications – scaling up when traffic demands, and scaling back as appropriate – allowing them to focus on their core business objectives. RightScale’s automated system management, pre-packaged and re-usable components, leading service expertise and best practices have been proven as best-of-breed, with customers deploying hundreds of thousands of instances on Amazon’s EC2.

“Cloud computing is a disruptive force in the business world because it provides pay-as-you-go, on-demand, virtually infinite compute and storage resources that can expand or contract as needed,” said Michael Crandell, CEO of RightScale, Inc. “A number of public providers are already adopting cloud architectures – and we also see private enterprise clouds coming on the horizon. Today’s announcement of RightScale’s partnerships with FlexiScale and GoGrid is an exciting indication of how mid-market and enterprise organizations can really take advantage of multi-cloud architectures. There will be huge opportunities for application design and deployment — we are at the beginning of a tidal shift in IT infrastructure.”

FlexiScale is the only UK-based cloud computing provider and offers a unique infrastructure on demand with 99.99% SLA and many special features. For example, each customer gets their own virtual disk so that data is segregated and they can do their own low level encryption, while virtual network traffic is also segregated to deliver added security. FlexiScale uniquely offers permanent on demand storage and was the first cloud provider to support Windows. With a strong reputation for customer service, it also enables the creation of custom packages such as golden images.

Tony Lucas, CEO of XCalibre and creator of FlexiScale commented: “Without this new ability to move swiftly and easily between platforms, customers could feel locked in and much more hesitant to try and use cloud computing. RightScale’s partnership initiative is a great example of how having near interoperability between systems will enable customers to be less hesitant of moving to a new technology, which is great for everyone. It means the industry can and will grow quicker than if it was only a handful of individual companies providing distinct services that weren’t compatible with each other.”

GoGrid offers hosted cloud computing infrastructure that enables system administrators, developers and IT professionals to create, deploy, and control load balanced cloud servers and complex hosted virtual server networks.

“Cloud computing for the enterprise has arrived with the GoGrid and RightScale partnership,” said GoGrid CEO, John Keagy. “Corporations now have few excuses not to, and multiple reasons to deploy and manage complex and redundant cloud infrastructures in real-time using the GoGrid, RightScale, and FlexiScale technologies.”

Rackspace Hosting provides IT systems and computing-as-a-service to more than 33,000 customers worldwide. Combining RightScale’s technologies with Rackspace’s focus on Fanatical Supportwill allow companies to focus on their business and not a disproportionate amount of resources on IT demands.

ComputeNext Launches First e-Commerce Platform for Multi-Cloud *aaS Procurement

Bellevue, WA (PRWEB) January 09, 2013

ComputeNext, the multi-cloud marketplace, today announced the launch of the first e-commerce platform for the discovery and on-line procurement of IaaS, SaaS, and now PaaS solutions. The new marketplace platform offers customers on-demand software (SaaS) across a large selection of cloud infrastructure (IaaS) providers as well as launches Stackato(a PaaS, based on the open source Cloud Foundry framework,) to build, deploy, and manage their own applications.

With this latest addition of PaaS products to the ComputeNext marketplace a single account enables cloud service brokerage across three of the most widely used segments of on-demand services. Additional aggregation of cloud services means that these PaaS and SaaS services are offered across ComputeNexts growing IaaS footprint, which currently features over 10 unique providers of cloud infrastructure.

ComputeNext CTO Munirathnam Srikanth remarked that this crucial update brings that familiar shopping experience of e-commerce to our marketplace while providing a reliable and independent information source to help shape good decisions.

The latest features added to their cloud service brokerage platform provide CIOs, consumers, and purchasing managers with qualitative descriptions from individual cloud providers of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS services. Cloud provider profile pages gives pure-play cloud service providers, hosting companies and data centers in the process of defining their cloud branding a place to promote themselves and to differentiate their services from competitors.

According to ComputeNext CEO Sundar Kannan, Differentiation for cloud service providers is paramount to their success many claim cloud will commoditize their business but I remember these same claims being made years ago in the hosting business thats why our marketplace not only offers providers the ability to promote themselves, but for our users to come in and validate that.

The cloud service brokerage has also begun to incorporate quantitative data courtesy of Cedexis, a global leader in multi-cloud strategies for optimized web performance. This data from Cedexis, which runs over 1 billion measurements daily, gives ComputeNext users visibility into cloud providers historical performance as well as near real-time performance data including information on HTTP connect time, latency, and availability over 30 days. Other business intelligence and performance metrics can be found through ComputeNext such as average provisioning times for individual providers.

The latest product release also increases the number of geographic regions available within the IaaS division of the CSB marketplace. Users are now able to discover and provision cloud infrastructure from CloudCentral, an Australian based IaaS provider which has been ranked as one of the Top 5 Australian Cloud Infrastructure-as-a-Service Providers according to Longhaus research firm. These resources now available from CloudCentral offer a 99.95% uptime SLA as well as fast SSD enhanced ZFS storage. Additional IaaS locations in the United Kingdom, Portugal, France, and the Netherlands were not available at the time of this release but are pending shortly.

Additionally, the ComputeNext team has expanded their availability and support to developers and operations experts in the DevOps community enabling any and all services to be accessible via a single RESTful API or jclouds connectivity. CTO Munirathnam Srikanth had this to say, Our goal is to enable ease of access and usability to massive inventory of cloud services, enabling choice and flexibility for cloud consumers.

About ComputeNext

ComputeNext, a Bellevue, WA based technology company, offers CIOs, developers, ISV and SMEs choice in cloud service providers and eliminate lock-in. With the belief that a handful of large IaaS providers cannot satisfy the worlds computing demands, ComputeNext has built a marketplace for any cloud providers around the world to list and offer their cloud computing services to the public. As a cloud marketplace, ComputeNext delivers a transparent and transactional user experience with patented search and discovery technology to promote efficient computing.
