In the paper, released in Data Basics Summer 2014 edition, Marc Desgrouslliers covers the 5 essential characteristics of cloud-based systems as defined by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and applies them to eClinical systems. Issues such as validation and data security are covered, as well as the numerous benefits the cloud offers including scalability, cost savings, and increased time efficiency.
