Data Security, Cyber Attacks to be Addressed by Expert Panel at InnoTech San Antonio

Plano, TX (PRWEB) April 15, 2013

Understanding and defending against the latest cyber attack methods will be the focus when Layered Tech Chief Risk Officer Jeff Reich moderates an expert panel at the 2013 InnoTech San Antonio conference. The fifth annual InnoTech San Antonio conference is expected to attract more than 1000 business and technology professionals from the region for a day-long series of presentations, exhibits, and panel discussions on April 17 at San Antonios Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center.

In a conference panel discussion titled Security Its All About Perspective, veteran IT security professionals will get past the media hype and talk about what really happens on the front lines of data protection. In particular, panelists will offer insight into how things look from both sides of todays digital firewalls: how hackers look for and exploit vulnerabilities, and how security specialists work to keep threats at bay. In doing so, the panel will dissect some of the most recent and high risk attacks and data compromises.

As Layered Techs CRO, panel moderator Reich is instrumental in ensuring ongoing data security for the compliant managed hosting and cloud services that Layered Tech provides at its global network of data centers. A Distinguished Fellow with the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA), Reich is a well-known industry expert on security and risk management, and a regular speaker at technology industry conferences.

Media coverage of cyber threats tends to shed more heat than light, said Reich. With this very strong panel of seasoned IT security pros, well be able to take the audience into the trenches and help them get a deeper understanding of todays threats, and what can be done about them.

The panel led by Reich is scheduled for 3:00pm, as the culmination of a day-long Cyber Security Symposium to be held as part of the InnoTech San Antonio Conference. For further information on InnoTech San Antonio, visit http://www.innotechconferences.com/sanantonio/ .

Private Cloud Implementation Challenges Addressed in New eBook From Evolven

Jersey City, NJ (PRWEB) June 13, 2012

Evolven Software Inc. (http://www.evolven.com) is pleased to announce the release of the new, free publication Private Cloud is Still an Open Loop, an eBook that focuses on the painful real world challenges involved in private cloud.

This eBook focuses on the painful real world challenges involved in extending operations to the private cloud. IT executives are now coming to see the challenge of making the transition to the new private cloud infrastructure.

The eBook covers a number of subjects related to private cloud operations including: the first private cloud decision you need to make, why the actual environment configuration suffers from limited visibility, how rollout and rollback is not a viable strategy for using private cloud, and the new challenges created by abstraction and pace of change of todays operations.

“Many in IT are now coming to see the challenges involved in making the transition to a private cloud infrastructure, and how this is uncharted waters and a task that is one huge step into the unknown,” said Sasha Gilenson, CEO at Evolven. “Existing private cloud platforms address the requirements for rapid elasticity and on-demand self-service, however the challenges private cloud introduces for change and configuration management are frequently ignored. This creates a gap, leaving the cloud management loop wide open.”

This eBook provides insights and highlights issues relevant to IT professionals that are considering implementing private cloud in their environment or are already running services on private cloud.

The eBook is available for free download at http://www.evolven.com/download-ebook-private-cloud.html
