Second Annual LTC LINK Tank Competition to be Held July 22 in Chicago Co-Hosted by LTC LINK Conference and InnovateLTC

The field of finalists has been narrowed to six for this years LTC LINK Tank competition, an annual event that aims to identify cutting-edge startups in the aging-care space and help those companies get their innovations to market.

Following its 2012 launch, the LTC LINK Tank continues to gain momentum as a forum for startups focused on long-term care and senior care to introduce their products to top Venture Capitalists, corporate VCs, and healthcare buyers and suppliers.

The competition aims to solve challenges for providers who serve the fast-growing aging population residing in nursing homes and other communal-living environments.

A panel of judges, comprised of provider organizations, technology experts, VCs and angel investors, will listen to presentations from the six finalists, culled from over 60 submissions. The winner will receive a $ 10,000 startup investment and consulting services from InnovateLTC, a business accelerator and market development company focused on the 50+ market.

LTC LINK Tank is co-hosted by InnovateLTC and the LTC LINK Conference (July 22 24, Chicago, IL). Interested journalists are encouraged to attend the competition on Monday, July 22, from 12:30 1:45 p.m., and are invited to continue their conversations with providers and emerging companies at a break immediately following the competition.

The six finalists for this years LTC LINK Tank are as follows:

Social Code: provides patient engagement and behavior change through social connectivity, remote monitoring, mobile intervention and data analytics.

Liberate Medical, LLC: a medical device company utilizing a platform technology based on surface electrical stimulation to the abdominal muscles in synchrony with a patients voluntary breathing cycle.

WalkJoy Inc.: WalkJoy and Walking Health – offerings represent landmark development in restoration of gait and balance-as well as providing important walking diagnostics for all residents and patients.

ReMinD Technologies LLC: MindRx – an intelligent phone case/software application system that carries and dispenses medication while recording and tracking medication data to prompt self-motivated adherence, becoming a permanent medication companion system to residents and patients and an indispensable tracking tool for caregivers and physicians.

CoPatient: technology-enabled services companies focused on helping consumers manage the finances behind their healthcare. CoPatient audits and appeals medical bills on behalf of individuals and employers on a contingency basis.

BAM Labs: Smart Bed Technology for Every Care Setting – a leader in smart bed innovation has developed an FDA registered touch-free biometric sensor mat placed under any mattress, combined with HIPAA-compliant cloud computing, that turns any bed into a smart bed.
