Saugatuck Technology Introduces BEACON Innovation Awards

Westport, CT (PRWEB) June 21, 2012

Saugatuck Technology today announced its new Beacon Awards, which recognize outstanding business and IT innovation through the use of advanced technologies such as Cloud, Mobility, Social / Collaborative IT and Analytics, to create new opportunities, new business, and new ways of doing business. The nomination process opens today, with all nominating entries to be submitted by September 15, 2012. The inaugural winners will be announced at Saugatuck Technologys 2012 Cloud Business Summit, to be held at the Westin Times Square in New York City, on November 14, 2012.

According to Saugatuck SVP and Head of Research Bruce Guptill, the Beacon Awards will recognize business and IT leaders for innovation across four dimensions:

Customer Engagement / Satisfaction
Products / Solutions
Markets / Partnering
Business Models / Realizing Revenue

Our goal is to recognize, reward, and promote enterprises and enterprise leaders who develop, execute, and grow real business value by finding, building, or refining new and better ways of doing business. This is not about Cloud per se; and its certainly not about technology. Its about using and leveraging Cloud and related social, mobile and advanced analytic technologies with business to create new opportunities or enable new efficiencies and effectiveness, explained Guptill. These awards help reinforce that Cloud itself is not a goal, its a means to enable and improve business and IT.

In addition to announcing the winners at the 2012 Cloud Business Summit, winners will be invited to a special recognition dinner with peers, media, and senior Saugatuck executives the night prior to the conference. Winners case studies will be included as part of Saugatucks ongoing research programs (including one year of rights to reprint that research, subject to Saugatuck reprint and copyright policies). Innovation award winners will also be profiled by Cloud Business Summit media partner Information Management via their website http://www.information-management.com/.

Nominating guidelines and procedures have been published on the 2012 Cloud Business Summit website, and are summarized here:

Nominations will be in the form of simple case studies prepared according to the Award guidelines.
Judging will be done by Saugatuck executives and staff. All awards will be judged and awarded at the sole discretion of Saugatuck, based on its accumulated expertise, knowledge, experience and judgment.
Organizations can nominate themselves or their own executives, and they may nominate partners, competitors, or providers.

As an unbiased and independent research and consulting firm, Saugatuck does not require or imply that any firm be a client of any of Saugatucks business consulting or research services in order to be eligible to receive any award.
