6WIND Achieves Additional Deployments in LTE Networks Supported by Strong Partner Ecosystem

6WIND, the gold standard for software-defined networks, today announced that it has extended its lead as the #1 supplier of high-performance networking software for LTE infrastructure worldwide. The companys 6WINDGate Mobile Edition software is now deployed in major LTE commercial networks in Asia, Europe and North America. As an example, 6WINDGate currently serves 80% of Japans LTE users, thanks to recent deployments in products from multiple Telecom Equipment Manufacturers (TEMs) who provide equipment for service providers throughout Japan. According to a recent report by Maravedis, the worldwide LTE subscriber base reached 12 million by the end of 2011, with a 92% growth rate during the fourth quarter.
